Imagine Dragons Brought The Heat To KC

Imagine Dragons

Imagine Dragons stopped in Kansas City on Tuesday on the 3rd stop of this leg of their Mercury World Tour. Kings Elliot opened up the show, followed by an energetic performance from Macklemore, and an epic 24 song set for the record books. Seriously, they might’ve set a record for the most confetti ever used at a concert in Kansas City.

Macklemore

Macklemore performed hits from his days with Ryan Lewis like “Thrift Shop” and “Can’t Hold Us” as well as a couple of new tunes like “Chant” featuring Tones And I that just dropped a couple of weeks ago and “Maniac” that isn’t even out yet. Macklemore and his band are pretty no frills when it comes to the production side of things, but they brought pyro, and that’s always one of my favorite aspects of any show.

I’d never seen Imagine Dragons before until Tuesday and I have to say, they really impressed me. Each member is clearly a talented musician and they’re one of those bands where you can tell they’re having the time of their lives out on that stage. Frontman Dan Reynolds might be the most energetic and active lead vocalist I’ve ever seen. When I mentioned the confetti record before, I meant it. They shot off confetti at least 6 times and each time it was a different color. They also had pyro, so they immediately get an A+ from me. In all seriousness, if you’re not a big Imagine Dragons fan, their live show will make you one. Going into the show I was only familiar with a few of their singles, but I loved every song they played and left the venue a fan.
