McFarland’s Restaurant Looking To Do A Family Picture

If you have lived in Topeka for years, you know that there is one place in town that everyone has been to eat. That place is McFarland’s Restaurant. In fact, it has been open since 1932, making it one of the oldest restaurants in Topeka. It has been at its current location in the Gage Shopping Center since 1967. But, that is all about to change.

The current location is set to close on August 31st. Before that happens, the restaurant is wanting to gather all former and current employees for a “family picture”. That will take place on Sunday, August 25th at 3 PM in the parking lot of McFarland’s.

According to Chief Operations Officer Scott McFarland:

Walter Macs is currently evaluating several locations and will make a determination where the new McFarland’s will be.”

No matter where they go, you will still see 3rd generation owner Walt greeting and seating people, Cathy cooking up some delicious food, and other family members coming back to take McFarland’s into the 21st century. And of course, some old and new menu items will follow.
