Is Online Grocery Shopping Picking up In Popularity?

There was a day when my parents told me that groceries would be delivered to your house. That day has come with most grocery store chains offering online shopping and delivery of those products right to your door. But, are people excited and jumping to their computer to do it?

A survey was conducted by VIXXOwhich is a management company that works with supermarkets across the country. Almost 1,300 people were surveyed and a vast majority still would like to drive or walk to the grocery store to pick up a loaf of bread, rather than other options.

According to the survey, 96% of Baby Boomers and 81% of Millennials enjoy the in-store experience better. Overall, 87% said that was their preferred choice.

One of my biggest concerns is having someone else select what you are going to eat. Maybe that tomato isn’t as ripe as you like it. Or maybe the cut of meat doesn’t look as appealing as the next one to it. That selection process is gone if you order online. And many of the people surveyed noted that as a big reason why they would rather go to the store.

If you have never tried online grocery shopping before, then here are a few links to stores in Topeka.
