Sole Reason, a Topeka-based organization dedicated to providing new shoes to children in need, is hosting its 7th annual Sneakers & Smiles Golf Tournament on Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28 at Cypress Ridge Golf Course. This two-day event is the nonprofit’s largest fundraiser of the year, aiming to raise both awareness and critical funds to support its mission: putting sneakers on the feet of local children and smiles on their faces.

The tournament follows a four-person scramble format, with a team entry fee of $380, which includes green fees, cart, drinks, breakfast, and lunch. Sole Reason is actively seeking teams and sponsors to help make this year’s event the most impactful yet.

Sponsorship opportunities range from $150 to $1,000, offering businesses valuable exposure both on-site and online, as well as in promotional materials throughout the year. The top sponsorship tier even includes team registration.

Participants can look forward to a variety of hole contests, including closest to the pin, longest putt, and a special challenge where players can compete for a $30,000 car. The event will also feature an on-site auction with an impressive lineup of memorabilia and collectibles, from a signed Taylor Swift CD to a helmet sporting Andy Reid’s signature, and much more!

Last year’s tournament enabled Sole Reason to distribute hundreds of pairs of sneakers to children across Shawnee County. Since its founding in 2016, the organization has donated more than 9,300 pairs of shoes, living up to its motto: “Putting sneakers on their feet and smiles on their faces.”
