Highland Park High School’s Timothy Apodaca, Jr. Wins September Crystal Apple Award on Majic 107.7

Timothy Apodaca, Jr., a Highland Park High School automotive instructor, has been named the September Crystal Apple Award winner on Majic 107.7. The Crystal Apple Award, sponsored by Prairie Band Casino, recognizes outstanding educators in the Topeka and Northeast Kansas area who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of their students.

A Pittsburg State graduate, Mr. Apodaca has taught automotive classes at Highland Park High School for the past 10 years. He is passionate about teaching his students about cars, a passion that began at age seven in his Father’s garage. “I grew up around my Dad and my Uncle, said Apodaca.”  “They loved working on old cars, and I started tinkering around with them a little bit.”

That interest led him to take automotive classes at Highland Park where he, now, inspires others. “The students enjoy this subject so much! When they start getting into something, tear it apart, and put it back together and it works, you get to see that light that’s shining in them.”

Mr. Apodaca’’s brother, Jason, nominated him for this award by saying, “Tim has always been a role model for me, and I look up to him in everything he does. I couldn’t be more proud to nominate him for such a wonderful award.”

Mr. Apodaca is a dedicated educator who is committed to helping his students succeed. He is a role model for his students and an inspiration to his colleagues and the community.

Congratulations to Timothy Apadaca, Jr. the September Crystal Apple Award Winner, from Prairie Band Casino & Majic 107.7!
