Topeka Zoo Welcomes Used Christmas Trees for Animal Enrichment

Do you have a used, live Christmas tree you don’t need after the holidays? Donate it to the Topeka Zoo and Conservation Center! The zoo is accepting clean, decoration-free trees from December 26th to January 8th, 2024. All you have to do is drop them off on the southeast side of Gage Park, near the horseshoe courts.

The trees will be used as enrichment items for the animals at the zoo, such as lions, tigers, giraffes, and more. After that, the trees will be turned into mulch for reuse.

This program is part of the zoo’s commitment to conservation and sustainability. It also helps you with your post-holiday clean-up. So don’t let your tree go to waste, donate it to the zoo and make the animals happy!
