Can you believe it? The 2022-23 school year is coming to a close and Majic 107.7 have visited a lot of school in Topeka and surrounding areas acknowledging teachers who have went far and beyond for their students with the Crystal Apple Award and our latest winner is another name we can add to the list of great educators in Kansas.

Allow me to introduce you to Karli Benson, who is a sixth grade teacher at Tecumseh North Elementary School. She was nominated by her colleague Tuesda Smith and she had some pretty amazing things to say about Karli via email.

I would like to nominate my colleague for the Crystal Apple Award. Karli Benson is a 6th grade teacher at Tecumseh North Elementary School in the Shawnee Heights District. She is a teacher that goes above and beyond for her students by preparing lessons that truly engage her students and give them hands on experience, preparing them for the real world. She has a passion for teaching that is seen by the energy and effort she puts into her lessons, as well as the love she shows to her students. Her connection with her students has created a welcoming atmosphere where her students feel valued, making her lessons all the more impactful. As her colleague I feel inspired and motivated to do better because of her. I am proud to be part of her team.

It is because of this letter that we are going to award Karli with the following:

  • Crystal Apple with her name engraved on it
  • A prize package from Prairie Band Casino
  • Also, Tecumseh North Elementary School is in the running for a $1,000 donation which will be given away in January 2024.

Now because we are at the end of the school year Majic 107.7 will still acknowledge teachers over the summer break so email and nominate your favorite teacher, principal, office administrator or coach by sending us an email at [email protected]

Congratulations to all of our 2023 graduates on all levels.
