The Special Olympics Kansas is coming to the Capitol City and they are looking for volunteers to kick off the celebration!

On Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Shawnee Heights High School, 4201 SE Shawnee Heights Rd, Tecumseh, KS 66542, will host the Special Olympics Regional Track Meet.

The shifts are divided into morning shifts and afternoon shifts because the meet lasts all morning and into the afternoon. One or both volunteer opportunities are available.

There are many different volunteer positions available, from timing to measuring to escorting athletes to assisting in lunch distribution. No prior knowledge is required. When volunteers come, they will receive training, and Special Olympics staff will be available all day to assist with any inquiries.

To make the track meet a success, which will feature over 300 Special Olympics athletes, we urgently need more volunteers.
