Rebecca (Beckie) Makowski is starting her 9th year of teaching. She teaches kindergarten at Jay Shideler Elementary School and loves building a positive education foundation for her students.
Her nomination letter read as follows:
“Best Quaran-teacher ever!
Mrs. Rebecca Makowski is the best teacher we could have ever hoped for during the pandemic and school shut down. She is a kindergarten teacher at Jay Shideler Elementary and truly went out of her way, above and beyond to make sure that her students and even the families were taken care of. We could not have asked for more from her. Her efforts saved my sanity during these last few months of school. I always knew I could rely on her and my son was uplifted being able to routinely but virtually see her and his other classmates”

The educator will receive a Prairie Band Casino Prize Pack that includes an overnight stay, $100 to Three Fires Steakhouse, a $25 Embers voucher and $25 in Prairie Cash. Plus, a commemorative crystal apple award. Twelve monthly winners will be chosen and in January of 2022, one will be named Educator of the YEAR. The educator of the year will receive a $1000 donation to their school from Majic 107.7. Plus, Prairie Band Casino & Resort will award the educator of the year another prize pack ($100 in Prairie Cash, a $25 Embers vouchers, $100 to the steakhouse).
