The August Crystal Apple winner is Rachel Witt, who is an early childhood special educator with TARC Inc. TARC is a service provider to those living with “developmental, intellectual, and related disabilities” as stated on TARC’s homepage.
The nominator had this to say about Witt: “Rachel is passionate and determined to change lives for families with children with special needs and developmental delays. She works with TARC to help families learn strategies and empower themselves. She not only works with children birth through three years old, but works hands on with the parents, caregivers, and others to make sure that all children she comes into contact with are given every opportunity for success.”
Crystal apple recipients each receive a Prairie Band Casino Prize pack, which includes $50 in Prairie Cash, 2 Dinner Buffets and $44 to Bingo, as well as a commemorative Crystal Apple trophy. Recipients are also entered in to the Educator of the Year GRAND PRIZE: an overnight stay package at Prairie Band Casino & Resort. The package includes one overnight stay at the resort, $100 Prairie Cash, and $50 to the Steakhouse. But that’s not all – there will also be a $1000 donation given to the educator of the year’s school!
