May’s Prairie Band Crystal Apple winner is… MARTHA BARNHILL! Martha is a Music Orchestra teacher at Shawnee Heights High School. She was nominated by a parent that has had children in her class for a total of 10 years. “I love Martha’s passion for teaching music to children, and her commitment to continue building a strong music program within her district.” This person recalled a specific time with one of her kids where Mrs. Barnhill reached out to her family to assist in getting her daughter to Colorado for their school orchestra trip. “It’s those moments that make you realize just how truly lucky you are to have an outstanding teacher cheering you on from the sidelines. We are so grateful for her kindness and support throughout the years and hope to one day be able to show her just how much.”
