Kansas City Donut Shop Challenges Boston’s Best Dough

Who’s ready for the battle between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots this Sunday? There is more on the line than just a chance to play in Atlanta for the title of the NFL’s best.

A Kansas City donut shop that I have had the privilege to have is putting up some of its best against another donut shop in Boston. Donutology is a staple in KC and they are challenging Boston’s Kane’s Handcrafted Donuts in a friendly bet. According to a press release:

Boston’s Kane’s Handcrafted Donuts and Kansas City’s Donutology are putting their finest donuts on the line for the AFC Divisional matchup between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday, January 20that 5:40pm.

If the Patriots win, Donutology must send 35 of their most popular signature mini donuts, “Sweet Bacon O’ Mine”, to the Kane’s Handcrafted Donuts shop in Boston, Massachusetts, and Kane’s must send a dozen of their best donuts to Donutology if the Chiefs are victorious.

Friendly trash-talking will take place between the two donut shops over Instagram (@kanes_donuts & @donutologykc), Facebook and Twitter. Social media followers of both brands are encouraged to weigh in as well. The losing team’s respective shop will also have to take a photo with the opposing team’s jerseys next week while baking their own donuts.

With a wink and smile, Andrew Cameron, founder of Donutology and a Kansas City Chiefs fan, says the secret behind the Chiefs’ winning season “must be all of the Donutology donuts they eat before kick-off. We’re happy to be in this friendly competition with Kane’s Handcrafted Donuts—and the Donutology staff looks forward to eating a dozen of Kane’s best donuts very soon.”

As a Chicago Bears fan, I really want the Chiefs to win! No disrespect to Tom, Bill or any Patriots players or fans, but it is time for the #ChiefsKingdom to rise to the top!
