I am very excited to be a part of my first ever Polar Plunge! Yes, it may seem crazy that I want to walk into icy cold water, but when you can help out a great cause, the shivering is all worth it.
The Special Olympics Kansas Polar Plunge will take place on Saturday, February 2nd at Lake Shawnee. What is great about this event is that all the money will stay locally to help fund the Special Olympics Kansas State Basketball Tournament, which is going to be held in Topeka on March 23rd and 24th.
If you have never witnessed the Special Olympics before, I encourage you to check out this video of last years opening ceremony in Hays
Here is what makes this first plunge for me even more interesting. I am challenging Joey Irsik from 102.9 Nash Icon to see who can raise the most money and who can have the most people join our team. It would be great if I can get your support and show Joey how amazing everyone in Topeka can be.

The goal is to raise $26,500 and I know that you can make a difference. Please help me in this great cause and we will see you at Lake Shawnee February 2nd.
