Could Remnants Of Hurricane Gordon Affect Topeka?

The United States has been very lucky with landfalls of hurricanes this year. But things are changing, and Hurricane Gordon has made landfall near the Alabama/Mississippi border overnight. Could this potentially affect us here in Topeka?

According to theĀ National Weather Service, the hurricane will become a tropical depression and start to move Northwest the next few days. The current path has it moving over the Southwest part of Missouri. That track will leave Topeka and west of the area out of the heavy rain. But, if the depression takes a track that is 50 miles west, then we could see lots of rain the next few days.

Make sure to keep a lookout on the forecast and if there are any changes to the track. Areas west of Topeka have seen enough rain this week and any additional heavy rain could be dangerous.
