Kansas Expocentre Welcomes New Management

The County of Shawnee has selected Spectra by Comcast Spectacor to provide Venue Management and Partnerships to the Kansas Expocentre and its five-facility campus.

“We realized that we needed a company that could focus and improve our sales and marketing campaigns, as well as develop long-lasting partnerships with local businesses, and Spectra can do all of that for us,” said County Commissioner Bob Archer. “Spectra’s deep experience gained from managing similar properties will be a valuable asset to our $45-million-dollar renovation project that is forthcoming. We are excited for what they will bring to our community.”

Spectra named Kellen Seitz the General Manager of the Expocentre. He has been with Spectra seven years, most recently as General Manager of the Muskogee Civic Center in Muskogee, OK. He was also Spectra’s Director of Marketing at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, NM; and SpiritBank Center in Tulsa, OK; and the Marketing Manager at Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, CO.

The Kansas Expocentre, is comprised of five facilities, including Landon Arena, a 7,400-seat home of the Topeka Roadrunners Hockey team, concerts, family shows, and power sports events; the Exhibition Hall, a 48,000-sq. ft, venue for annual and regional trade shows, conventions, and expositions; the Domer Livestock Arena, which boast an impressive 240’x120’ competition arena, a 200’x150’ exercise arena and 245 livestock stalls;  Heritage Hall, a 5,750-sq. ft. top Topeka wedding destination; and a stand alone 17,800-sq.ft. Agriculture Hall of climate controlled flat-floor space.

Spectra also operates the nearby Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Independence, MO; and the Overland Park Convention Center, in Overland Park, KS.
